Beiter Multirod Longrods The Centraliser.....Lots of customers have been using these...... and ask about putting weights on the end of the rods. You can of course do this, but the design is also trying to use the length of the rod and its tuners to absorb the vibration by having a longer rod....some archers are onto very long rods instead of weights so that the balance of the bow is maintained by the length of the rod and the vibration damping by gradually absorbing the energy over the length of the rod and not by having a heavy weight in the system (which may reflect the vibrations back to the bow) These rods seem to be significantly better than others in damping the shot.

Just a Note on arrow stiffness and nock weight.....ACE shafts are noticeably affected by changing the point weight....heavier point means effectively weaker arrow.....lighter point means stiffer effective arrow. Well we all know that I expect. However, changing the nock on the back of the arrow has a similar effect....Beiter nocks are heavier than ACE nocks ....effectively STIFFENS the arrow... compared with ACE nocks. Why tell you this..well Easton have a pin nock for the ACE shaft  and X10 shaft...greater accuracy and protection from tail ending of shafts. You may have to beware of any weight change of a new nock system which can alter effective stiffness of you ACE's

Limb Alignment... In the USA at a Hoyt Product Seminar then employee 'Mike Gerard', himself a 1300 shooter who was overseeing recurve limb quality, did a little demo in the seminar room shooting a fletched and unfletched shaft at about 10 yards to show tuning. He showed us the string running down the middle according to the gauges of the limbs top and bottom with a pair of Beiter Limb Line Gauges..the unfletched shaft landed about 2" away from the fletched shaft.

techbeit.jpg (8140 bytes)The neat bit was that then by adjusting the pockets in the bow handle, Mike adjusted the limbs still straight in line by the limb line gauges...but also setting the string to the correct center shot of the handle...on shooting again the bare shaft was at once touching the fletched shaft. MORAL: It is possible to have the limb line gauges say that your bow is lined up when you have actually got the bow string in the wrong place as far as center shot is concerned. The result is that you get a poor starting place to tune from, and in some cases a reverse tune. So; to avoid this, test that your string is center shot to the bow riser as well as the limbs!
